SONS IN RETIREMENT (SIR) IS AN ORGANIZATION OF RETIRED MEN. WE HAVE JOINED TOGETHER TO MAINTAIN OLD FRIENDSHIPS, FORM NEW ONES AND AVOID THE BOREDOM OF RETIREMENT. INCORPORATED IN 1959, THE ORGANIZATION NOW HAS ABOUT 22,000 MEMBERS IN 175 BRANCHES. THERE ARE NO DUES, AND NO ESPOUSAL OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR FRATERNAL ORGANIZATIONS OR THE LIKE.

  What's With The Rooster?

"Of all the creatures on earth, none express more independence and dignity with sureness and aplomb than the rooster.  The majesty of his presence is felt in every barnyard, and when he crows he can be heard for miles, not in a fainthearted crow, but with a noise that calls attention to his being."  Damian Reynolds, Founder

Our founders chose the rooster as the official logo to represent the freedom he displays around the barnyard. We have paid our dues to the business world and now is the time for us to strut and crow a little.

We share the dignity of retirement with one another as members of SIR.

SIR Branch 8

Mount Diablo Branch No. 8 meets the second Monday of the month. We have a luncheon meeting at the Elk's Club in Walnut Creek. The address is 1475 Creekside Drive. We have about 260 members and nearly all attend our luncheons. At the luncheons we have speakers on a number of subjects. In the Spring of the year we have a ladies day and at Christmas we have a Holiday Party. We have a wide variety of activities and think that you will find something that we do that you will enjoy. If you would like information about Sons In Retirement membership or information about any of our activities, contact us at SIR, 1475 Creekside Drive, Walnut Creek, or click on one of the links at the left.
